What defensive lessons can we learn from the “clock bomb” scare in Texas? You might be surprised!

You may not know this, but I’ve recently started blogging over at the Personal Defense Network site. Of course I’ve written articles for them for years, and have done a couple of DVDs and some videos for the site, but now I’ll be sharing things over there on a more consistent basis. You’ll be able to find everything I write for them at this link.

While what I share here tends to be of immediate, practical use the posts on the PDN blog will be a little more theoretical, a little more on the introspective side of the defensive training world. If you’re the thinking type, I believe you’ll like what I post over there!

This week a new article went up, titled “HOW PERSPECTIVE AFFECTS YOUR THREAT PERCEPTION”. It takes a look at the recent incident in Texas where a kid brought a home-built digital clock to school, and explores some deeper issues than you’ll find in most commentary on the story. In fact, I don’t really care who was right or wrong in the incident, but rather seek to see how our preconceptions affect our ability to protect ourselves.

I believe you’ll find it very thought-provoking!
